What is Anemia And What Are The Causes Of It





What Is Anemia?
Anemia is a condition which occurs when the body lacks the healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin form blood. We all are aware about hemoglobin. It is a main part of red blood cells and binds oxygen. The study found that when your blood have too few or abnormal red blood cells or when the amount of hemoglobin is low or abnormal in blood at that time the cell are not able to get enough oxygen.
It is found that in US anemia is a one of the most common blood condition which affects around 3.5 millions of Americans. The studies also say that women and the people who are suffering from chronic diseases are more prone to risk of anemia.

 Following are some of the important factors to remember:
Certain types of anemia are hereditary and the infants are also get affected at the time of birth.
 Women in the childbearing years are more at risk to iron-deficiency anemia. The main reason for this is blood loss from menstruation and the increased blood supply at the time of pregnancy.
Older adults also have a risk of developing anemia the main reason behind this is poor diet and other medical conditions.
There are many types of anemia and all have different causes and treatment. The research says that iron deficiency anemia is one of the most common and this can be easily treated by changing diet and iron supplements.  

What Causes Anemia?
  • There are 400 types of anemia, and they are divided into three groups:
  • Anemia which is caused by blood loss
  • Anemia which is caused by decreased or faulty red blood cell production
  • Anemia which is caused by destruction of red blood cells
  • Anemia which is caused by Iron-deficiency  

This type of anemia can be caused by:
  • An iron poor diet in infants, children, teens, vegans and vegetarians can also cause anemia.
  • The metabolic requirements of pregnancy and breastfeeding that deplete a woman's iron stores
  • Menstruation
  • Frequent blood donation
  • Endurance training
  • Digestive conditions like Crohn's disease, surgical removal of part of the stomach and small intestine can also cause.
  • Certain drugs, foods, and caffeinated drink
  •  Vitamin-deficiency of vitamin B12 and folate can also cause.
